He is at present chief financial officer and executive manager of corporate services at Hinchinbrook Shire Council near Townsville in Australia. Mr Tombs, who is originally from the United Kingdom, worked for accounting firm KPMG in London and Sydney before moving to Northern Queensland in 1994.
