Report recommends changes to make foster caring easier and provide homes for at-risk kids

A KPMG report commissioned by the State Government found it took an average of six months to approve new carers but bottlenecks and a “lack of staff” were causing delays of up to two years. The report recommends authorities start assessing potential carers after hours to slash the waiting time.
