Modelling by KPMG, on behalf of the Association of British Bookmakers, estimated that halving the current GBP100 limit to GBP50 would put almost 300 betting shops at risk of closure by 2020, whilst the corresponding estimate for a cut to GBP2 would put over 3,000 shops at risk, Ladbrokes said.
